Bahia Blu is another full-bodied favorite from Tony Borhani. It has a dark, oily, natural wrapper grown in León, Nicaragua, a town northwest of Managua, not far from the Pacific Ocean. The binder is grown in the northwestern part of Estelí, Nicaragua, one of the three traditional tobacco growing regions in Nicaragua, and one known for its strength. The filler is a blend of two Nicaraguan tobaccos, one from the same part of Estelí as the binder, the other from the Jalapa Valley, in northern Nicaragua near the Honduran border. Like all of Tony Borhani's cigars, the quality is outstanding.
The Bahia Gold collection of cigars is the greatest masterpiece by Tony Borhani. Bahia Gold cigars are made in Esteli, Nicaragua using robust filler and binder tobaccos grown in the Dominican Republic. To ensure a smooth flavor, the ligero receives a third fermentation prior to rolling. The beautiful wrapper is Sumatra seed grown in Ecuador. After being rolled, the cigars are allowed to age an additional twelve months to allow the tobaccos to marry.
Bahia Gold Churchills and Robustos are one of the highest rated cigars by Cigar Afficionado Magazine. The Bahia Gold is the strongest of the Bahia line with a full-bodied peppery flavor - similar to the flavor of a Cuban cigar.
